so what's been going with "the bmxer?" well, since my real last post, i have graduated from the university of louisville with a stinker of a degree. i'm now at JCTC, aka JCC. i'm enrolled in the pta program there and things are moving along there.
in 2006, i was making my come back to racing and was picked up in 2007 for the factory dan's comp team. that lasted 6 months way too long and then rode the rest of the year out for factory felt. that team experienced money issues and i was let go. the following year, 2008 i rode for the ofr team. i felt it was time to return to professional racing and thus, submitted my elite master/vet pro papers and return to pro racing in early october and posted decent results.
i was offered a development deal with Redline Bicycles and made my debut for them at the aba grand nationals. i made the semi main events for the roc and grand national. not a bad showing for my real first vet pro race.
i went to a regional event in indianapolis and scored my first ever pro win in elite open. i then went to florida and choked like the buffalo bill's kicker at the superbowl...oh well... i brought my butt home and continued to train under the guidance of Wiggy and as the spring training got into full swing, i began to notice that my first straight and full laps were progressing nicely!
i attended the nbl warsaw national and did very well for a 38 year old pro. ended up with a 5th on saturday! i tried racing sunday, but left all i had on the track the day prior...short day, got home early...ok with me...
the very next day, my oldest daughter tells me, "i wanna ride the bicycle track!" "tonight?," i ask. yep! so we pack up and head out. she rides a few laps and she had enough. well, i did a few more and ended up coaching the kiddos and tried to show them a little something...ended up showing them the wrong way and broke my left hand. season down the toilet...ugh..
so i'm casted up until the 22nd...hope the pins do the trick...
i've been in the gym doing serious cardio sessions. 45 min. on the stairs and 10 on the rower. i've drop some weight and look to make a return to racing asap!
so that's what i've been up to...
hope all is well on your end!
